Does riding a stationary recumbent bike build muscle or just burn calories?
I've just started, so I can't tell yet.
What is a better cardio workout for weight loss: jogging, jumping rope, elliptical or recumbent bike?
A 20 minute average paced jog
20 minutes of jumping rope
20 on the elliptical at a medium setting
or 20 on the bike at an average pace.
Stationary bike seat uncomfortable, any tips?
I love using the stationary bike, EXCEPT that the seat on it really hurts to sit on after 15 or 20 minutes. I could pedal forever if I could just sit comfortably. For awhile I sat on different pillows, but then that eventually was more uncomfortable then sitting on the seat itself. Is there any way to change the seat of the bike, or put something over it thats more comfortable? Has anyone else with this problem been successful with something? Should I just get a recumbent bike? I don't know how those compare to upright bikes. What should I do?
Why is my recumbent trike wheel noisy?
I have a recumbent trike (an ActionBent Tadpole) and the right front wheel makes noise like there was a playing card hitting the spokes. I thought it was the brake making contact on the disc brake, but I don't think so now after playing with the brake. It increases in volume when I'm turning left and decreases/silences when I'm pulling right. What is the cause of this?
Well, thanks for answers! Unfortunately, I won't be needing them right now. I wrecked the trike yesterday on the way home (due to my own carelessness, not any lack of safety of the trike or trikes in general). Anyways, I landed pretty hard on that wheel as I rolled around, so the earlier noise isn't going to be an issue. Unfortunately, leaving me without a ride for Ride Your Bike To Work Day today, but...
MANUAL Schwinn SRB-1500 Recumbent Bike?
I Need the manual for a Schwinn SRB-1500 Recumbent Exercise Bike, does anybody knows where can i get it?
Is it more difficult to climb hills on a recumbent bike than a conventional bike?
I am not a physicist but there must be some scientific explanation about the hill climbing characteristics of a recumbent bike vs. a conventional bike. From my belief about leverage, a conventional bike would be much superior to a recumbent.
I need help!..which exercise bicycle should i get?
I wanna get a new exercise bike because the one i have now is falling apart..
and im trying to get a new one for cheap and i found 2
which one do you think is better?

How is the recumbent bike different from the stationary bike?
Obviously, one is lower to the floor than the other. But doe you exercise different muscles for each, does one burn more calories than the other, etc? Exactly how are they different? I just started going to the gym and not sure which is better to use.
