Is a recumbent Bike a great way to lose weight?

I ordered a recumbent bike to help lose weight, i have a bad back, so I am limited on exercise. Will this equipment help me to lose unwanted fat?

    yes. if you combine exercise with diet.

    go out there and ride! Sign up for a century and train for it! pedal on.

    any excercise will help you burn fat if you combine it with a healthy diet.

    and there are plenty of other things you can do with a bad back, sit in a chair and do leg lifts.. light weight arm curls with hand weights,
    place a chair behind you and squat till you are almost sitting in it and then stand up with out actually letting your bottom touch the seat, all sorts of things that you can do that my nana who broke her back does,
    shes 90+ yrs old, if she can do light things like that so can you , :)
    it works so long as you find a way to get your heart going, cardio with light strengthing excercises is alright for people with bad backs and knees

    To lose weight you just need to burn more than you eat, it is as simple as that.
    Putting it into practice is more difficult than saying it of course but knowing this simple fact ensures that if you take even one small step towards losing weight at least you take it in the right direction and not the wrong one like many do,.,…

    A recumbent bike is the perfect way to exercise if you have a bad back. These bikes tend to put little to no strain on the lower back, as well as on the wrists, arms and shoulders like upright bikes tend to do. They are very comfortable, so you’ll be able to sustain the duration of the workout without feeling the need to shift around to get more comfortable.
    As far as you losing weight, they can definitely help. As long as you get your heart rate up and keep it up for at least 30 minutes, minimum 3 times per week, you should be able to see a decrease in your weight. You’ll be building lean muscle tissue in your lower body (don’t worry – you won’t bulk up – only heavy weights will make you bulk up). Lean muscle tissue has a high metabolic rate, so increasing this tissue on your body will burn fat and calories even long after you finished exercising.
