What the best machine or combination of machines to use to get a balanced aerobic work out? What are the pros and cons of each?

If you have the selection of all those machines, i’d recommend doing a different machine on a different day for 40 minutes. The most important thing is that you are moving, sweating and working hard. Some work different muscles from each other, you can do the research on the pros and cons of each… or just try each out for yourself.
